Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentataion is darkening the skin caused by increased amount of melanin (pigment that gives hair,
human skin and eyes their color). Trauma, aging, certain diseases, pregnancy and exposure to sunlight can create non-aesthetic brown spots which represent disorder of the melanin.
The exact cause of this disorder can be divided into two groups: internal and external.
Internal causes are inborn – it is especially common for people with darker skin.
External causes are exposure to chemical compounds (progesterone, estrogen, minocycline, betaxolol) and sunlight,
Strains from the sun, age spots and freckles are caused by dangerous ultraviolet rays which cause permanent or temporary discoloration by damaging the melanin. They frequently appear on the skin that has been exposed to the sun – especially on your hands and face.
Surgery or trauma can also cause hyperpigmentation, but the dark spots remain even the problem is gone.
Melasma is a tan or dark skin discoloration during pregnancy, but it can also affect men as well. The brown spots appear on the cheeks and the nose and it is known as mask of pregnancy. This disorder usually goes away after the pregnancy without any major problem.

- Squeeze 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- Take a tsp of turmeric powder
- Stir them well
- Apply the mixture to the affected parts of the body
- Let it stay 15 minutes to dry
- Clean your face in the end
